About Us The Mile High Community Band rehearses in Denver, Colorado and performs primarily in Jefferson County, Colorado, USA. Our mission is to bring high quality concert and jazz music and music education to a diverse population in the Denver metropolitan area, including performance experience and music education for band members. Established in 1937 as the Denver Junior Police Band, and known since 2001 as the Mile High Community Band, we have a heritage of creating high-quality musical experiences including instruction and performance opportunities for musicians in the community, young and old, from intermediate to advanced avocational and professional players. If you currently play, or have played an instrument in the past, and wish to utilize and improve your skill in a fun community-based organization, the Mile High Community Band is for you. We make all possible accommodations for those with limited income. We encourage families to join, with parents and children learning and playing together. If your child's music education program at public school has been drastically reduced or cut all together, consider the Mile High Community Band.
