MHCB Board of Directors Meeting

CALL TO ORDER:     Substituing for Vern Vail, Roger Oram called the meeting to order at 8:35

 

ATTENDEES:

 

Board Members: Roger Oram, Tracy Collins, Brian Smith, Amanda Jakl, Nicole Martino, Jessica Mess,

Music Directors: Mike Lucas and Foster Payne

Operation Manager: Bruce Thron-Weber

Band Member: Cedric Lindsey

 

READING AND APPROVAL OF 3/1/2018 and 5/3/2018 MEETING MINUTES-

Foster Payne suggested that the motion to approve his occasional directing compensation of $40 per occasion had been omitted in the 3/1/2018 minutes. This correction was tacitly approved by the Board, but this motion actually occurred in the 2/1/2018 meeting. Both minutes were approved.

MUSIC LIBRARIAN VACANCY: Alyse Greenberg was recognized to let the Board know that there were three band members who had applied to fill her position as Music Librarian. The Board requested their appearance in two weeks at the September Board meeting so that they could be interviewed for the job and a decision be made. Alyse said that she would let them know.

MUSIC DIRECTORS’ REPORTS:

Mike mentioned that the music was difficult for the November concert.

Foster had no statement.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT- Vern, absent.

 

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT- Roger, no report.

SECRETARY’S REPORT- Bobby absent.

TREASURER’S REPORT- Tracy, no report, but indicated that she wanted to turn over documents.

 

OPERATION MANAGER’S REPORT- Bruce mentioned that Band needed rehearsal space on 9/27. Foster said that he would check with his church.

 

OLD BUSINESS-

  1. Debate within Board and other attendees regarding possible concert venues that have been under consideration.

It was moved and seconded to designate a December dues holiday for all band members this year.

 

Meeting was abruptly ended because of NHS custodian said that security alarm for building needed to be set.
