Music Directors’Reports Mike Lucas: Nothing to report Rick Mongrain: Combonians are playing the Arvada Harvest Festival on Sunday, September 9th Foster Payne: Thrilled to see the influx of members at rehearsals tonight Officers’Reports President: Vern Vail resigned Vice-President: Roger Oram - reported that North High School should be available on 9/27 for rehearsal Secretary: Bobby DeRoo - Has been missing in action for several months. Amanda Jakl moved to remove Bobby DeRoo from the board. Seconded. Approved unanimously. Treasurer: Tracy Collins resigned Scholarship Coordinator: Brian Smith - absent - 2 scholarships received and deferred to October meeting Other Reports Operations Manager: Bruce Thron-Weber - nothing to report OldBusiness Concert Venue Selection - Deferred to newboard NewBusiness Bylaws Maintenance Proposal: Change max board size from 7 members to 9 members. Jessica Mess moved to change the max board size to 9 members. Seconded.Approved unanimously. Nomination and election of new board members andofficers: Welcome Christina Baker, Risa Wolfe and Barb Lichtenstein to the board. Treasurer: Nicole Martino nominated Jessica Mess. Music LibrarianApplicants’: Christina Baker - Removed herself from the running due to boardappointment. Athena Tang - Was interviewed by the board. Barb Lichtenstein moved to hire Athena Tang as Music Librarian. Seconded. Approvedunanimously. Possible New ConcertLocations: Alameda High School: Mike, Nicole, Jessica and Rodger toured and liked the Percussion is available and cost isminimal. Wheatridge United Methodist Church: has been toured, unsure yet of price and percussionavailability. Jefferson Unitarian Church: $250 is the cost and there is no percussionavailable. Question was asked about location of concert venues: 50% of our concerts have to be in Jefferson County because we are funded in Jefferson OpenDiscussion New board members: Please read our bylaws so that you are familiar withthem. Officer Terms: The question of how long an officer is expected to serve was asked. It was answered that we would like to see officers serve for at least 1 year if not2. Scholarship committee recommendation: It was recommended that we form a scholarship review committee that would consist of 1 board member and at least 2 bandmembers. 10.Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 9:13pm.
