Board of Directors Meeting

Red Rocks Community College

June 12, 2014

 

The meeting was called to order at 8:45 pm by President Paul Peronard. In attendance, members Dave Thomas, Will Roland, and Roger Oram, constituting a quorum.  Also in attendance, Music Director Mike Lucas; Band Member Guests Christine Mitchell and Karen Larson. Board Members not in Attendance: Dan Filipiak, Angela Duran, and Lesley Herrmann

 

Minutes from the last meeting were not available but will be presented at our next Board meeting.

 

There was no written agenda for this meeting but Paul indicated that he wished to have a short meeting to discuss the future composition of the Board, as attendance and the work of the Board has recently faltered.

 

Paul introduced band member guests Christine Mitchell and Karen Larson who have indicated that they would be interested in serving on the Board of Directors. Paul thanked them for their interest in volunteering. They wondered what responsibilities they might have and Paul briefed them on what holes might need to be filled.

 

Dave Thomas made the formal announcement that he would be quitting the Band (and Board) following the June 19 Concert at RRCC. Everyone in attendance regretted to hear this, but wished him well.

 

A copy of the Bylaws was found that showed that all replacement Board members needed to be elected by the general membership. Paul said that he would call this meeting at the scheduled band barbeque, promoted by Mike Lucas, scheduled for June 26, 6:00 pm at RRCC.

 

It was reconfirmed that $100 had been approved for food, soft drinks, and utensils for the barbeque, as had earlier been approved by e-mail vote.

               

Meeting adjourned at @9:15 by Paul Peronard.
