  1. Call to Order @ 8:29pm
  • Attendance
    • Board Members: Amanda Jakl, Roger Oram, Jessica Mess, Nicole Martino, Cristina Baker, Risa Wolfe
    • Music Directors: Mike Lucas, Rick Mongrain
    • Others: Bruce Thron-Weber
    • Absent: Tim Hanna, Brian Smith, Foster Payne
  • Approval of Agenda
    • Roger Oram moved to approve the 12/13/18 agenda. Seconded. Approved unanimously.
  • Approval of Minutes • 11/1/2018
    • Roger Oram moved to approve 11/1 minutes. Approved unanimously.
  1. Music Directors’ Reports
  • Mike Lucas:
    • Passed out music for the next concert.
    • Board to consider: Might have issues for Red Rocks and Alameda High with construction.  April 4th should be fine for Alameda.  Might need to find new venues. 
    • Might need a new venue for June?
    • Will need a narrator in June for the Copland concert band piece, Lincoln Portrait - considering possible candidates

    • Happy holidays everything is going well

  • President–Amanda Jakl:
    • Nothing to report
  • Vice President–Roger Oram:
    • Attempted to meet with representative from Red Rocks (Hill Baker - head of music dept. ) Still not successful to reach him.
    • Talked with Mary Stremmel about website design. Website should be done soon. Updates will be completed soon. 
  • Secretary – Cristina Baker
    • Connect with Bruce to confirm sos is completed
  • Treasurer–Jess Mess:
    • Brian Smith and Jessica Mess are now signers on bank account
  • Scholarship Coordinator–Brian Smith:
    • Absent
  1. Other Reports
  • Operations Manager–Bruce Thron-Weber:
    • Ending the year about $2k in the red. Will need to raise another 1-2K dollars next year. 
    • Still waiting on payments from concert venue
    • New people coming in to join the band
    • Bruce might not be here for April 4th concert; will need to coordinate help to fulfill his duties
    • Will be advertising for new members

  • Cloud Storage of Videos
    • Google Drive $9.99/month for 1TB of space with 2T upgrade option for 19.99/month
    • Drop Box 9.99/month for 1TB of space
    • Find out what Athena is using for music drive
    • Jessica Mess moved to use/purchase google drive. Approved unanimously.
  • Concert Venue for April
    • Looking at Alameda High School due to construction at RRCC
  • Scholarships Applications
    • Current application needs to have two questions changed
      • Question about financial need and time donation to the band to get more specific and adding more detailed options
      • Question on how they are willing to help with options to select based on a list created by the board
      • Amanda to send the list out again for input.
    • January Board Meeting
      • Cristina Baker moved to move the board meeting from the 10th to the 17th. Seconded. Approved unanimously.
    • Mike’s vision suggestions
      • To be added to the January agenda
      • Amanda to scan and send digital copy to board
    • Edgewater concert
      • $70 to print the music-Foster Payne submitted invoice for payment - Amanda to forward to Jessica Mess
      • Turnout was not what we were expecting
      • In future, do more research next time for venue with larger turnout
    • Board Member Absent
      • Tim hasn’t been coming to meetings
      • Good standing means regularly attend meetings
      • Amanda to have a discussion with Tim and move forward based on this discussion
